UX Research Chat: European Accessibility Act 2025

When we don’t take into account accessibility, we exclude 20% of the population from our target audience, but till now it was the company’s decision. The European Accessibility Act (EAA) 2025 moves accessibility and inclusive design from a ‘nice to have’ to ‘must have’ category.

[EAA 2025](https://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=1202#:~:text=The%20European%20accessibility%20act%20is,EU%20leading%20to%20costs%20reduction) is a directive that aims to improve the functioning of the internal market for accessible products and services. It applies to all businesses in the EU with 10+ employees.

The implementation of each country’s laws will have to be ensured by June 2025, that’s why it is so important to get ready for it.
